Ace journalist and politician, Dele Momodu, has strongly criticized the lawmaker representing Edo North, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, over his controversial remarks about Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki and his wife, Betsy.
During a recent press interview, Oshiomhole stated that Governor Obaseki and his wife do not have children and have also failed to adopt. This comment came in response to Mrs. Obaseki’s statement at the PDP’s campaign flag-off, where she emphasized the importance of having a woman in the Government House and introduced PDP candidate Asue Ighodalo’s wife, Ifeyinwa.
Reacting to Oshiomhole’s comment, Dele Momodu expressed his shock and disappointment in an Instagram post this morning. He described the former Edo State governor’s statement as a “horrendous tantrum” and urged him to find the courage to apologize publicly to the Obaseki family.
Momodu stated, “My very dear Egbon Comrade ADAMS, Sir, I have watched this video endlessly and to say I’m shocked and mortified at how low you sank is to put it mildly. I pray you will find the courage to apologise publicly for this horrendous tantrum. It is never a crime to be childless. You could easily have said your candidate has a wife and children and leave it there but you went too far in this diatribe. Is it more than POLITICS?!!”
The journalist and politician condemned Oshiomhole for making such an unflattering statement, emphasizing that being childless is not a crime. He argued that Oshiomhole could have simply stated that his candidate has a wife and children without resorting to personal attacks on the Obaseki .
