Whistleblower PIDOMNigeria alive in police custody

Investigative journalist, David Hundeyin, has revealed that the anonymous whistleblower on X.com, 99% Oppressed, who tweets as #PIDOMNIGERIA, is alive in police custody and will be arraigned in court next week.

Hundeyin disclosed in an update on Friday that, after intense public pressure, the Nigerian Police Force confirmed that PIDOM Nigeria is being held at the Force Criminal Investigation Department in Abuja.

Recall that in an article titled “SOS Alert: PIDOM NIGERIA Is Missing (And I Think We May Know Who Has Him),” Hundeyin had earlier announced his disappearance, alleging the involvement of Nigerian authorities.

His post sparked concern among the Nigerian online community, prompting a trending campaign on X.com calling for the whereabouts and release of PIDOM Nigeria using hashtags like #PIDOM, #FreePidom, and #WhereisPidom, among others.

Providing an update, Hundeyin stated that a member of their intervention team in Abuja saw PIDOMNigeria and confirmed his safety.

He wrote on X.com, “After coming under immense pressure from the Nigerian public and an intervention involving #Mazi_OJD, #YeleSowore, #adeyanjudeji, #Adebayo_Ralph and myself, the Nigeria Police Force has confirmed that #PIDOMNIGERIA is alive and well in detention at FCID Abuja.

“A member of our intervention team on the ground in Abuja physically laid eyes on him a few minutes ago, and she confirmed that he is alive and well.

“According to the police, he will be arraigned in court next week.”
