A building proposed to be used to run an eatery, caved in under torrential rainfall that was preceded by heavy rainstorms in the Dugbe area of Ibadan, Oyo State capital, Sunday night, June 1.
An X user, Arugboboisi @Arugboboisi_Sam, who shared the information in a post, said that the debris from the collapsed structure blocked one lane of the ever-busy Dugbe–Mokola Road.
Arugboboisi said the blockage posed a serious hazard to motorists and road users on Sunday.
Emergency responders and equipment were immediately moved to the scene of the collapsed building, where they worked tirelessly to evacuate the rubble and clear the obstruction.
“We are urging everyone plying the Dugbe–Mokola axis from this evening till tomorrow (Monday) morning to slow down, drive with caution, and stay alert for diversions or emergency activity on the road,” he said.
