“Long occupancy on a property makes you the owner” Lawyer, Stan Alieke, advises homeless people

Abuja-based lawyer, Stan Alieke, has advised homeless people to move into any abandoned building they see and live in it.

According to him, under the law, long occupancy of a property makes one the owner. If a person resides in an abandoned building for a long time and no one shows up to claim it, such a person can apply for the legal title of the property to become the owner. He stated that under the law, this is known as adverse possession.
