Fornication not sin in my religion – Rapper, Falz

Nigerian rapper and singer Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has clarified his controversial statement that fornication is not a sin, saying he practices the religion of love.

The artist made the remark during an interview with Arise TV, following backlash over his earlier post on X, where he stated:

“Fornication isn’t a sin.”

The statement drew criticism from both Christian and Muslim users who quoted scriptures to challenge his claim.

Falz responded by saying his comment was not made from a standpoint based on religious doctrine.
In his words:

“I think people would read the tweet and just assume that I meant according to Christianity. I wasn’t really speaking from that perspective. I practice the religion of love. Under that religion, I don’t think fornication is a sin.”

He also questioned the basis for condemning premarital sex:

“These are two unmarried people. Willingly. Consensually. Personally, I don’t think there is a problem there.”

Falz’s statement has continued to generate mixed reactions on social media.
