The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has apprehended a suspected cultist, Ubong Friday Benson, 24, for allegedly attempting to kill his father.
The command in the statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, Timfon John, on Tuesday said the suspect was apprehended following a distress call from his father (name withheld), a resident of Ikot Imoh Village, who reported that his son had barricaded himself and was threatening to kill him with a dagger.
He also disclosed that the suspect (his son) had previously threatened to shoot him with a locally made pistol, which he regularly hid in a nearby bush.
According to the statement, a police team was immediately mobilised to the scene, leading to the arrest of Benson.
