APC Governors Endorse Tinubu For Second Term

The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) has officially endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the sole candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 presidential election.

The announcement was made by Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, who also serves as the chairman of the forum, during the APC summit held on Thursday, May 22, in Abuja.

Uzodimma, speaking on behalf of the APC governors, said the decision was driven by a shared conviction that Tinubu’s leadership is pivotal to Nigeria’s progress. “That for Nigeria to get to her destination faster in prosperity, that the president should be used and adopted as our flag bearer for 2027 presidential election, for a second term in office,” Uzodimma said.

The motion was seconded by Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, who expressed confidence in Tinubu’s leadership and pledged full support. “I rise to second the motion as ably moved by the chairman of Progressives Governors Forum, the governor of Imo state, His Excellency, Hope Uzodimma, that this August gathering pass a vote of confidence on our able and amiable president, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as a sole candidate of APC come 2027 general election,” Sani declared.

The endorsement follows a vote of confidence passed in Tinubu’s administration by APC governors from the north-central geopolitical zone on Wednesday, May 21.
