Police arraign 2 over threat to life

 

Two men, Abdulahi Salami, 61, and Lukman Gbadamosi, 62, were arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Wednesday for allegedly threatening a man’s life.

The defendants, whose addresses were not provided, faced charges of conspiracy, threat to life, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace. They pleaded not guilty.

According to police prosecutor Sgt. Samuel Owolabi, the alleged offences took place in February 2025 in Ido, Oyo State. Owolabi told the court that the defendants sent threatening messages to Imam Ayedun and prevented him from accessing land he had purchased. He added that their actions were likely to disrupt public peace.

The charges were filed under Sections 516, 86, and 249(d) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000. Magistrate Gladys Oladele granted the defendants bail in the sum of N200,000 each, with two sureties in like sum. The case was adjourned to April 4 for hearing.
