Police rescue kidnapped victim in Edo

Edo State Police Command operatives have successfully rescued Osazee Okungbowa, a man abducted from his residence in Owanoba Community.

The command’s spokesperson, CSP Moses Joel Yamu, confirmed the rescue in a statement on Sunday, February 9, 2025, assuring the public that efforts to apprehend the kidnappers are in full swing.

According to Yamu, Okungbowa was forcibly taken by a gang of five armed men at around 9:45 p.m. on Friday, February 7, in the presence of his family. However, swift intervention by officers from the Ologbo Division led to his rescue at approximately 5:00 p.m. the following day.

The victim has since received medical attention and has been reunited with his loved ones. Meanwhile, security operatives are actively tracking down the culprits to bring them to justice.
