Azenge Kelvin, a fresh graduate of Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi, Benue State, reportedly collapsed and d!ed while playing football hours after his final-year clearance.
It was gathered that Kelvin, who graduated with a 2:1 GPA, went to the school on Thursday, February 20, 2025, to process his final year clearance and had planned to return home the following day.
The following morning, Friday, February 21, Kelvin was playing football when he collapsed on the pitch after reportedly suffering a cardiac arrest.
He was rushed to a hospital where a doctor confirmed him dead.
Meanwhile, friends and course mates have taken to Facebook to mourn him.
“I still remember the day we received our admission letters to study a 5-year course at the university. Little did we know that our journey would be extended to 6 years, filled with countless challenges,” Felicity Ayilla, wrote.“We faced our fair share of struggles, from battling with difficult lecturers to spending a small fortune on numerous presentations. We traveled to different states for our industrial training, sacrificing precious time and resources.“Despite the obstacles, my course mate Kelvin persevered, graduating with a remarkable 2.1 in a department notorious for its stringent grading. His achievement was a testament to his hard work and determination.“But life had other plans. Kelvin’s passing after graduation left me with more questions than answers. What is life all about? Is it worth living? What are we fighting for?“After all the struggles, sacrifices, and sleepless nights, I’m left wondering what it’s all for. Is it merely a means to an end ?“Kai I’ve never been this devastated before, it seems so unrealistic. God why? You wouldn’t have allowed this to happen!
“It’s hard to write but what can I do? May the soul of Anz Kelvin and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace amen.”
