Tinubu Swears In Kudirat Kekere-Ekun As Chief Justice Of Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu officially swore in Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) during a ceremony held at the Council Chambers of Aso Rock Villa on Monday.

Following her Senate confirmation last week, Justice Kekere-Ekun becomes the 23rd CJN and only the second woman to hold the prestigious position in Nigeria’s history.

She had been serving in an acting capacity since August, succeeding Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, who retired.

The swearing-in marks a significant moment in Nigeria’s judiciary, with more updates expected on her plans for the role.
