Emre Can Set To Join Juventus On A Free Transfer

We understand Liverpool are trying to persuade the Germany international to stay, but Emre Can has opted for a move to Serie A.

The midfielder is out of contract this summer and is free to negotiate with overseas clubs.

With Philippe Coutinho seemingly on his way to Barcelona, Liverpool had hoped they could convince Can to sign a new contract.

But he will move to Juventus at the end of the campaign.

Can doesn’t need to keep Liverpool informed of his plans beyond this season if indeed he is to leave Anfield.

Emre Can joined Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen in 2014 and has made 154 appearances, scoring 16 goals.

He will become the latest in a long line of top talents Juventus have snapped up on a free transfer.

Most recently, they got Dani Alves from Barcelona, and Sami Khedira from Real Madrid after his contract had expired.

While Andrea Pirlo enjoyed arguably the best years of his career in Turin after joining on a free from AC Milan — and they famously signed a young Paul Pogba from Manchester United in 2012.
