Toyota To Unveil The New RAV4 At The New York Auto Show

Recently, Toyota released the first official pictures of the new generation of RAV4 models (fifth generation), the picture shows the silhouette of the new car sideways. Like the C-HR and the new Camry , the new RAV4 is also born from the TNGA architecture. It will be launched globally at the 2018 New York Auto Show which will be opened on March 28 local time, and will be made available in 2019.

The official preview of the new trailer shows a new RAV4 parked on the “Lakeside of the Grand Prairie”. The intentional back light cleverly hides the details of the vehicle, but at the same time retains a clear enough outline of the body. It can be seen that the roof line of the new RAV4 is flatter than that of the current model, and the rear window has a larger angle of inclination, and the existing elements such as the roof rack and rear spoiler are more dynamic. In addition, the front of the new car is no longer as sharp as the cash models, the side looks more square, it is expected that there will be a more solid visual effect.

Looking back on the previous leaked photos, we can easily find that the new RAV4 has similar design elements to the Toyota FT-AC concept car , including a thick-striped grille, rich lines and tough front face, outside mirrors, wheels Style, etc., is expected that the FT-AC concept car is the prototype of the new RAV4. Of course, the final model of the production model will converge much more than the concept car .

In terms of power, we expect the new RAV4 to be powered by Toyota’s new Dynamic Force series of naturally aspirated engines , which will include three hybrid models: 2.0L, 2.5L and 2.5L. With reference to Yuze and New Camry , the maximum power of these three kinds of power is 171 horsepower, 209 horsepower, and 218 horsepower (combined), respectively. The transmission system of non-hybrid models is matched with CVT gearbox (2.0L) and 8AT, respectively. Transmission (2.5L). The actual shape and parameters of the new RAV4 have yet to be further announced by the government. Let’s wait and see.
